| Established
in 1902, the Jefferson Inn named after Jefferson Davis,
reigns as the last of the traditional "Old
South" hotels in Southern Pines. Once the home
to many grand hotels, Southern Pines now boasts only the
Jefferson Inn to carry that colorful history.
In the early 1900's when grand ladies in
poof skirts walked the halls of the Jefferson Inn, the
Sandhills of North Carolina were the get-away of well to
do Northerners looking for fresh air and moderate
temperatures. Now as then, the invigorating benefit
of a brilliant pine scented morning walk is a principal
feature of the area.
Today, modern conveniences add to the
warmth and charm awaiting you at the Jefferson Inn.
Our newly renovated accommodations range from modest
singles to spacious one-bedroom suites, many with jacuzzi
baths. All at very reasonable rates.
Head for one of the area's 42
championship golf courses, play a game of tennis, or
saddle up for a ride through some of the country's most
beautiful riding trails. All within a short distance
from the Inn.
"T"
